Silkscreen printing has so far been the only method to decorate glass with coloured paint.
Unlike silkscreen printing, digital printing does not require the paint to be applied with the help of special screens.
In silkscreen printing, for each new image to be printed on the glass a special screen has to be produced, which involves considerable costs and a long production time.
Moreover, in silkscreen printing only one colour at a time can be applied, without the possibility of creating shades or colour nuances.
Digital printing, instead, does not require any printing tool.
The picture, drawing, photo or text are uploaded and processed by the printer’s software. The printer, provided with print heads with a great number of tiny nozzles that are smaller than the diameter of a hair, deposits tiny paint drops onto the glass surface.
This process enables to print in six colours; the six colours are all used at the same time and in a single print run, ensuring thus the highest definition quality, colours with shades and transparent effects.
